To: Dru Johnston

Dear you,

Well Dru, you really did it this time! You have successfully gotten yourself a night of sushi dinner, plenty of drinks with your brother and the opportunity to either:
  • A. Push your creativity to a level beyond swearing at things or...
  • B. Invent swear words like in A Clockwork Orange.
I think it's safe to say that you've given yourself a pretty decent Christmas. Because really, what's Christmas but an opportunity to give your loved ones things that in some secret way help you.

I'm just making that point undeniably clear because I had to make a fourth post and my parents didn't want another kid.

But to everyone: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! May your day be full of joy and mirth!

AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Yourself,

Dru Dylan Johnston

To: Zane Johnston

Dear darling brother,

All the money I saved on Mom's present I will be spending on alcohol for you. You will receive it upon your arrival to the city next week.

You're welcome.

From,

Your Brother, Dru Dylan Johnston,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

To: Ella Johnston

Dear Mom,

I will confess that I did not spend any money on your gift. However, that being said, I know that this gift will make you more happy than any gift I give to anyone else. Are you ready? I bet you are...

Gift: I will not swear in any of the next five blogs for The Year of the Blog. No swear words. None at all.

I guess this is also a gift for Uncle Louie as well. And really for most of my family... except Zane. I bet he loves it.

From,
Your Loving Son, Dru Dylan Johnston

Merry Christmas!

To: Richard Johnston

Dear Dad,

In trying to come up with something to give you I realized that anything concrete or material would pale in comparison to food. Everytime you come on out to New York you're primary drive is trying out the various restaurants that you can't have back in Seattle.

So... for Christmas I will be taking you out to my favorite sushi restaurant in the city tomorrow evening. This offer comes complete with sushi, soup, salad, edamame, sake, really anything you want. You get a full meal and you are allowed to bring one guest with you.

I highly recommend that one guest be mom.

From,
Your loving son, Dru Dylan Johnston.

Merry Christmas.
